The Year @ Albert Street Church
Throughout the year Albert Street Uniting Church is active in our local community with a variety of events suited to all ages and interests!
January
Celebration of Australia day, alongside the day of Mourning to reflect on our history.
April
Easter marks April, in the common calendar. From Good Friday service with the nails on the cross service, over to Resurrection service on Sunday.
ANZAC day on the 25th - we take this space to remember those who fought for our lands.
February
Albert Street Uniting Church sits in the heart of the Brisbane CBD.
For Valentines Day - we believe love is a daily event, not just one day a year!
May
Mother's Day on the 2nd Sunday of the month.
Wesley Hymnfest on the 24th and come the 30th we have our art installation of hands on the lawn, for reconcilliation.
March
Events begin to blossom, with the start of Lent, Ash Wednesday, World Prayer Day on the 7th March, International Women's Day on the 8th, Harmony Day on the 21st and end of the month we celebrate with Neighhour Day!
June
22nd June marks the Uniting Church Anniversary.
On the 30th we acknowledge all our volunteers!
July
Brisbane House Tour of Historical Sites on the 19th July - head over to Brisbane Open House for tickets!
25th July marks the winter carolling excuse for Christmas in July. Warm food and a chance to fundraise for our Annual Christmas Day lunch for the lonely and disconnected in Brisbane.
October
On the 12th is the Polynesian Festival known as White Sunday.
August
Our Art Exhibition for Albert Street Church.
Later in the month is our 137th Anniversary from when the Foundational Stones were laid.
November
On the 1st we have a service for All Saints Day, followed by All Soul's Day on the 2nd.
Then get ready for our event of the year with Sing It Yourself Messiah, on the 15th!
Save the 28th for decorating and lighting the Christmas Tree!
September
Albert Street Church is recreating the Spring Fair with our Teddy Bear's Picnic and Blessing.
Inviting all who have received Albert Bears to join our event.
Other bears also welcome.
This is a child-friendly event!
On the 22nd we'll host our Annual Cupcake Fundraising Day.
December
On the 5th we have our Service of Solace - for Christmas is a hard time when we've lost dear ones!
By the 13th we'll have our Christmas Market - aimed for the children from our Teddy Bears Community!
On the 24th at 5pm join us for our Children's Pageant and come back at 11pm for our special Christmas Eve service.
Followed by Christmas Day Service on the 25th, after we serve our Annual lunch for the lonely and disconnected in Brisbane.
Finally on the 28th we have a Hymnfest.
